Incorporating FOCUS 1.0 within Analytics enables FinOps practitioners to maximize the business value of their cloud

PointFive, the leading cloud cost optimization platform, today announced it has incorporated FOCUS 1.0 data exports into its Analytics module. PointFive users will now be able to access their cloud performance and cost analysis data in a single location that leverages a consistent and unifying language across all cloud providers. 

The FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification, or FOCUS, is supported by the FinOps Foundation. It defines clear requirements for cloud vendors to generate billing files in a single format, eliminating the complexity of data normalization and making it easier for practitioners to perform FinOps. 

PointFive’s Analytics Module: Overview and Cost Analysis Dashboards

PointFive has two FOCUS-complemented dashboards within the company’s Analytics module: Cost Analysis and Overview. 

The Overview dashboard brings a wealth of advantages by leveraging the FOCUS standard for cloud billing file exports. It offers a unified view of your cloud costs, enabling quick analysis and deeper insights across all services, cloud providers, and resources. Additionally, it streamlines cost management, providing the clarity needed for effective decision making.

The Cost Analysis dashboard helps users attribute cost and usage data to various cost drivers by using advanced group-by capabilities, cross-filtering, deep dives to the resource level, and more cost investigation capabilities. 

These dashboards are available to view billing and usage data through participating cloud providers, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
