PointFive’s 2025 Strategy

We created PointFive to deliver a solution that provides deep insight into hidden cost inefficiencies within cloud environments, to help organizations get engineers engaged and make it easy to reduce and mitigate cloud waste. 

Our efforts over the past year highlighted the gaps in many of the tools on the market today. After all, you can’t effectively reduce cloud waste when you’re only seeing ground-level saving opportunities. By providing deeper insights with actionable steps for remediation, we delivered on our promise to help customers better engage engineering teams and encourage them to take action.

If last year was focused on building the foundations of PointFive, 2025 is the year of scale. Unlike companies that might build their product just to prove they can sell it, we built it for scale from day 1!

In 2024, many people told us that just based on our website or seeing our booth at a conference it’s hard to understand what makes us unique. I get it. The market today is very noisy. Funny enough, those same people also told us that once they saw a PointFive demo, it took them just a few seconds to understand why we are so different in the market.

Boots on the Ground

In 2025 we are going to be laser focused on getting in front of as many people as possible, so they can see the uniqueness first hand. At the same time, we want to be impactful and provide value - that can only be done by getting in front of organizations at the right maturity point. This is why we are going to double down on partners. Partners have intimate relationships with practitioners and organizations. They can truly understand pain points and determine whether PointFive can be a good fit for their customers. We are going to collaborate with selective partners with high technical and Finops capabilities in every region so they can make meaningful connections with the right people at the right time.

It’s not only that people “get it” when they see a demo, but our team does an amazing job delivering our uniqueness in an in-person setting. Our events calendar for 2025 is going to be even bigger. We’re expanding our presence at FinOps and DevOps community events and conferences to engage directly with practitioners. We not only want to help them maximize their cloud investments, but we also want to hear what they need to do their job better. 

Advancements in the Platform

We have a very powerful solution for AWS that is proven to be one-of-a-kind. In 2024 we built our multi-cloud capabilities and added support for Azure and GCP. 

By the end of January 2025 we are going to bring Azure and GCP to maturity, allowing PointFive to serve more complex multi-cloud environments. Multi-cloud has become the standard for enterprises so this is the only way to go.

But our efforts won’t stop there. We are going to introduce a few first-of-their-kind concepts to the market. One example is a disruptive approach to anomaly detection. We've found a way to solve for the inherent lag of cost anomaly alerts, and we're determined to bring it to market and provide customers with real-time cost anomaly detection. This technique will also provide practitioners with built-in root-cause analysis, saving hours of manual research.

And we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention AI! We’ve been working on ramping up our AI capabilities that we’ll be rolling out this year. Here are a few examples of what you can expect to see: 

  • ML-driven DeepWaste Detection
  • LLM and Co-pilot to make cloud infrastructure and cost research much quicker and easier
  • Advanced algorithms for anomaly detection

If you’ve had a chance to meet us - in person or online, you probably know that we believe FinOps shouldn’t be boring. We are going to invest in bringing a lot of fun to the industry, just like we did with the puzzle box challenge, and various other giveaway campaigns. Saving money is fun, isn’t it?

Bring on 2025

Our vision is big and exciting. We plan to expand beyond cost data, bringing together various disciplines into one place. This approach acknowledges that engineers have many responsibilities that are adjacent, and highly related, to maintaining costs under control. We plan to go a long way in helping them better engage in the cost optimization mission.

In 2025, we will further introduce an innovative approach to Finops. It will bring engineers closer to Finops than ever before and motivate them to maintain high efficiency of their infrastructure.
